At Thulimbah State School, we foster a positive, inclusive school culture that supports all students to learn and thrive. Our whole-school approach to behaviour is grounded in the core values of safety, respect and learning.
Students are supported to develop socially, emotionally and academically within a nurturing environment where high expectations are clearly taught and consistently reinforced. We encourage students to demonstrate self-discipline, take responsibility for their actions, and contribute positively to the wellbeing of others.
Strong, respectful relationships underpin everything we do. Staff and students work together to build a safe and supportive community, and significant time is invested in developing positive connections across the school. We work closely with families to ensure consistent communication and shared understanding of behaviour expectations.
Our approach is informed by restorative practices, supporting students to reflect on their behaviour, repair relationships and make positive choices for the future. This builds empathy, accountability and resilience.
Wellbeing and anti-bullying education are explicitly taught, including through the BullyProof program, developed by Jeff Horn. This program equips students with practical strategies to respond to challenges, build confidence, and demonstrate respect in all interactions.
Positive behaviour is recognised and celebrated through a range of whole-school strategies, including awards, recognition systems and communication with families. Staff model respectful behaviours at all times and engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen their practice.
At Thulimbah State School, every student is supported to feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
