Thulimbah State School
is situated 10 minutes north of Stanthorpe in a quiet country setting of
beautiful trees and gardens, with plenty of space for children to play and
explore. Thulimbah offers a friendly small school atmosphere providing a
positive nurturing environment for learning. With two small multi-age classes
the experienced and dedicated staff are able to focus on attending to
individual student learning needs and requirements.
Students are taught all the
key learning areas in a multi-age setting, allowing them to work effectively at
their individual level. All students participate in an arts program which
includes music, dance, drama and specialised instrumental lessons. Students
also participate in tennis lessons, interschool sport, athletics and swimming
lessons each year. Information and communication technologies are utilised on a
daily basis to develop and reinforce literacy and numeracy skills as well as

The Positive Behaviour for Learning
program at Thulimbah teachers students to build positive relationships and to
be effective members of the classroom and wider school community. Students are
taught how to be respectful, responsible, safe and a learner in all contexts of
school life.
Prep students are included with Years 1 and 2 in an integrated
program. Oral language is a high priority and is focused on through language
programs, which are developed through a play-based program to promote
successful formal reading and writing. Numeracy is developed through a
