Thulimbah State School delivers a high-quality, future-focused educational program aligned with the Australian Curriculum (ACARA). In 2024, we implemented Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum in English and Mathematics, and we are progressively implementing Version 9 across all remaining learning areas as they become available.
Our timetable is carefully structured to maximise learning time in English (literacy) and Mathematics (numeracy), ensuring strong foundational skills. Learning areas are purposefully integrated to deepen understanding, make connections across disciplines, and promote meaningful, real-world learning.
We utilise our multi-age classroom setting (Prep to Year 6) to provide personalised learning pathways that respond to individual student needs, abilities and progress. This environment fosters peer learning, collaboration and leadership, empowering students to take ownership of their learning.
We offer a broad and enriching curriculum, including:
- Japanese language, with Thulimbah State School proud to be the only state primary school in the local area currently providing this opportunity
- Instrumental music, supporting students to develop creativity, discipline and performance skills
- A range of opportunities across academic, cultural, sporting and creative domains
Technology
At Thulimbah State School, technology is embedded across all areas of teaching and learning. Students have access to individual devices, enabling them to develop essential digital literacy skills and engage in contemporary learning experiences.
Upper primary students are supported through the Queensland Government’s Student Technology Equity Partnership (STEP), with access to take-home devices to extend learning beyond the classroom.
Students regularly:

- Communicate and collaborate using email and digital platforms
- Use assistive technologies such as audio software for tasks including dictation
- Create sophisticated digital products incorporating text, images, audio and multimedia elements
- Practice touch-typing skills through structured programs
